CBD stands for cannabidiol, a compound found naturally in hemp plants. Unlike THC (the active cannabinoid in marijuana), CBD is not intoxicating which means it will not get you high. CBD interacts with a series of receptors in your body known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS relates to a number of important systems in your body and helps keep your internal rhythms in optimal balance.

Is There THC In Green Roads’ CBD Products?

If the CBD product is broad-spectrum, it will have only non-detectable levels of THC (meaning the amount is so small it doesn’t show up on a lab report). If the product is isolate, there will be no THC. If the product is full-spectrum, it will have less than 0.3% THC, the federally legal limit for industrial hemp plants.

Will Green Roads CBD Products Get Me High?

No. CBD is not intoxicating. THC is the compound that causes a high and all Green Roads products have less than the federally legal limit of 0.3% THC. Our broad spectrum and isolate products have even less. These minuscule amounts of THC aren’t enough to cause a high when taken as directed.

Why Do People Take CBD?

People use CBD to support their overall well-being in many ways. Some may need help with really specific issues. Others are supporting their overall well-being. Honestly, we learn a ton about how and why people use CBD from our customers.

You can do your own research online to see what challenges people are saying CBD helps them, their parents, their children or even their pets overcome. This is what it’s all about for us! We love reading positive stories about the impact our products have on people’s everyday lives. We get them from veterans, first responders, office workers, athletes, seniors, parents, and everybody else.

While we believe CBD can support wellness in many ways, you have to understand this is still a young industry. Encouraging research about CBD is emerging all the time, and we can’t wait to learn more in the future.

Why Can’t You Post All Your Reviews?

We are incredibly proud to say that of the 10,000+ reviews we’ve gotten from consumers, 90.4% have been either 4-star or 5-star. It’s a direct result of our commitment to quality and the dedication we have to our customers.

Unfortunately, due to FDA regulations, we cannot post all of those reviews on our website. The FDA forbids all CBD companies from publishing reviews in which customers mention specific health conditions. As you might imagine, a large number of our consumer reviews mention specific health conditions.

In order to comply with the FDA, we’ve published a representative selection of reviews that pass the FDA guidelines. These are actual, unaltered reviews from real customers, and because transparency is a big part of who we are here at Green Roads, they range from 1-star disappointments to 5-star raves. We’re proud of the praise, and we learn from the critiques.

1000mg Daily Dose Tincture

Green Roads is one of the biggest CBD brands on the market, so I was excited to try out a few of their products.

I ordered the 1000mg Oil Formula – Daily Dose to review, and also received a few free 25mg Froggie samples with my purchase. So, I decided to review both of these products for you.

The 25mg Froggies are an easy on-the-go serving of CBD. Compared to other edibles, the froggie was a little strange and kind of scary. It is actually quite large in size and felt a bit like I was eating a real frog. This product comes in two varieties: sour or sweet. I received a few different flavors of the sweet variety.

The 1000mg Oil Formula Daily Dose comes in a syringe. At first, when I saw this, I was a bit shocked. Usually, I tend to associate syringes with needles, but it turns out that this is actually a great way to ingest CBD .

How to Use This Product

First, I will talk about how to take the Froggie since it is fairly straightforward. You simply open the package, bite off a piece of the gummy, chew it and swallow. With 25mg per gummy, you know exactly how much you are getting, so I recommend starting with half, waiting about an hour to see if you feel anything, and then either taking the rest or saving it for later.

The oil is a little more complicated to use and requires some know-how.

The suggested use on the package is to “place 0.5ml- 3ml under the tongue for at least 30 seconds before swallowing.” I squeezed out 1ml (one line) onto my finger and then put it under my tongue (also known as sublingual administration).

There are approximately 33mg of CBD per ml serving, so even a small drop of this is more potent than the entire gummy. In terms of dosage, it’s important to try out these products and get to know your own needs and preferences. I find that CBD is highly personal and depends on the users’ own system, body and needs. Start off small, and increase the dosage as you go. I also recommend writing down the amounts and times that you take it, whether you feel any effects, and any other info so that you can figure out what works for you.

The ingredients in the froggy gummies include corn syrup, sugar, gelatin, citric acid, natural artificial flavoring, and a bunch of color dyes.

I really did not love the ingredients in the froggy gummies. Ingredients are the most important thing, because you are putting this directly in your body. Like a lot of gummies, this one is basically just a candy with CBD in it. In my opinion, CBD is a wellness tool that can help you feel better in a lot of ways, so it does not really make sense to put other ingredients in your body that are not healthy or will probably make you feel worse. But that’s just my own opinion. It’s also true that you are probably not going to eat a lot of gummies, just like you wouldn’t eat a lot of candy.

That said, I liked the cherry flavor of the gummy.

Something else I noticed, that was strange about this product, is that the package said “ND THC.” I did not understand what that meant, and thought it might be a typo that was supposed to read “NO THC .” [ Editor’s Note: ND stands for Non-Detect] The froggy includes 25mg of broad spectrum CBD .

The ingredients in the 1000mg Oil Formula are hemp seed oil, kosher grade vegetable glycerine, and an unspecified “proprietary terpene blend.”

This oil definitely has a taste to it. It tastes like hemp with a little bit of cantaloupe rind mixed in — definitely an earthy, herbal taste.

Transparency & Lab Results

According to the brand’s website, one of the co-founders, Laura Fuentes, spent 25 years as a licensed compound pharmacist. She is responsible for ensuring quality controls standards.

Green Roads does third party lab testing on all of their products, working with an independent testing facility called Kaycha Labs, which is an ISO (International Organization for Standardization)-certified lab. As a third party entity, Kaycha operates independently of Green Roads and conducts two tests: one on raw materials and a second one on the finished product. Kaycha runs tests for pesticides, heavy metals, solvents, microbials, and mycotoxins.

Each product page has a link to the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) , which you can easily access by entering the batch number.

About the Brand

Green Roads was founded in 2013 by Laura Fuentes and her longtime friend, Arby Barroso. Fuentes was working as a licensed compounding pharmacist and Arby, who struggled with health issues, wanted to know more about CBD. According to the brand’s website, the pair saw the power of CBD and decided to launch their own brand.

Fast forward less than a decade, and Green Roads is now ranked as one of the largest privately-owned CBD companies in the US, according to Brightfield Research Group. Their products are sold in over 10,000 retail locations throughout the country.

Green Roads considers itself to be a wellness company. Its mission is “to help every person find the healthiest version of themselves through the power of plants.”

Consumer Experience

The consumer experience with Green Roads was great. I ordered the product online and received an email with a tracking number. A few days later, the product arrived at my front door. In addition, customers can track their order directly on the website and contact the brand via email or phone.

Green Roads has an extensive FAQ section on its website, as well as a lot of information and educational resources about CBD .

Packaging and the Unboxing Experience

Green Roads packaging and unboxing experience was fine — but nothing special. It is a very straightforward brand with no gimmicks.

I did find that the plastic wrapping on both the gummies and the oil were very strong, and required me to cut it with scissors. There was a lot of plastic packaging — this is not a brand that prioritizes sustainability.

Bottom Line & Main Takeaways

In general, this product was legit. I personally preferred the oil to the gummy, because I didn’t like the ingredients in the latter.

Both products did leave me feeling a bit more calm and relaxed, but not sleepy. I was able to focus throughout the day.

Who Is Green Roads?

Green Roads CEO Laura Fuentes worked as a licensed compounding pharmacist for 25 years before co-founding this award-winning CBD company in 2013. The idea of starting Green Roads came after a close friend named Arby Barrosa asked Laura to formulate a CBD-based remedy for his own personal health issues.

Initially, Laura worked on her formulations on evenings and weekends. Eventually, Laura came up with a CBD-based formulation that worked so well for Arby that together they decided to co-found the Green Roads company to help improve the lives of others.

At the time of Green Roads foundation, the CBD industry was very different than it is today. It was a new industry, fraught with many obstacles and challenges, from intense scrutiny by the FDA and the DEA, banks that wouldn’t take their business, and shippers who wouldn’t handle their products. However, the pair persisted, emboldened by the positive impact Green Roads products were having on their friends and families.

That persistence paid off, and Green Roads is now an industry-leading CBD company, with its products being sold in more than 7000 retail stores. Over the years, Green Roads has continued to grow to the point that it has a team of pharmacists formulating CBD-based products for consumers. Two other prominent members of the Green Roads team are Anthony Alfonso, a pharmacist and Head of Manufacturing, and his daughter, Megan Alfonso, who works as a pharmacist for the company.

In recent years, Green Roads has won multiple awards, including the Best CBD Products prize at the Cannabis Business Awards in 2018 and 2019. Also, at the 2019 Cannabis Business Awards, Green Roads won the Most Innovative Product award for its Green Roads coffee.
